Special
projects
The special projects of Éco-quartier Saint-Laurent
have had major impacts on the borough. Citizens wanting to do more
for our community have created some of our most successful and well-publicized
projects. We are proud to support these dedicated volunteers as
they realise their desires to change the world.

Urban Maple
Grove
The Urban Maple Grove allows residents to discover the ecological
dimension of our city’s trees as well as their folklore and
cultural significance. Everyone is invited to take a trip through
the heart of our history and to enjoy themselves at different shops
along Decarie boulevard. (To our knowledge) this is the first event
of its kind in Montreal and everyone is invited! >>

"On
TASSE le gaspillage!"
In an effort to decrease our reliance on disposable coffee cups,
one of our dedicated volunteers initiated "On TASSE le gaspillage!".
This project promotes the use of reusable Éco-quartier mugs.
Many local businesses jumped on board; you can flash your green
mug all around the city and get discounts on your cup of java! (in
French) >>

Urban Renewal
The Cardinal community garden has as objectives to provide a source
of safe and affordable food for the participating residents, to
reinforce community ties and to encourage the residents to become
active in the neighbourhood. >>

La
vraie couche
Did you know that each baby produces at least one tonne of waste
when parents opt for disposable diapers? EQSL's "La vraie couche"
campaign aims to inform, educate and change common misconceptions
about cloth diapers. >>
